Creates a safer, less cramped and more functional engine compartment.   You Will Receive a Complete Premium Marine Alternator Kit designed to replace the existing charging systems prone to burnout and expensive repairs.  Problem: The Original Equipment uses a stator that puts out continuous current and heat, so the water-cooled voltage regulator is subject to burnout.  And even with an expensive replacement, the problem won't stay fixed! Solution:   This new conversion kit utilizes the alternator found on most other MerCruiser stern drives which charges only when current is needed, producing less heat and less chance of burnout.  Bonus:   The new system is more energy-efficient, resulting in more miles per gallon and higher top-end speed.
